All Mine to GiveI first sought this movie when I was about 14 years extinct. Today I’m 55 and smooth have it in my head as the best movie ever. My older brother and I cried every time during the five times we sought this movie on TV abet home in Brazil. I looked for it under it’s name in portuguese ” em cada coração uma saudade^ which has nothing to do with the new title, but it gave me the name in english ( thanks to the internet ) . I want to survey it again, in english this time, to gaze how remarkable I sob. I will pick up my 15 year ancient daughter and her friends to glance this with me to gawk their reaction compared to mine some forty years ago. I highly recommend this. If it stayed in my mind for forty years, it must be tremendous.

This DVD’s veil art, which is recent to the movie’s release over fifty years ago, has a tagline that reads: “Six kids on a correct and astonishing adventure!” This is one of the most misleading teasers in cinematic public relations history. It has the reader imagining a sextuplet of young ones perhaps sledding on particularly cool mountains or facing down some Scrooge-like, anti-Christmas archnemesis. In fact, it’s about children losing both parents to highly contagious diseases and having their family rent permanently asunder.
This epic is based on a true-life account status in Wisconsin. Robert and Mamie Eunson (Cameron Mitchell and Glynis Johns) are Scots who have fair landed in America (the year is 1856), having been invited there by Mamie’s uncle. They advance in the exiguous logging village of Eureka, only to be informed that both uncle and his cabin have been incinerated in a house fire. The Eunsons are assisted by the first-rate locals in reconstructing the house and Robert takes to tipping timber. It should be famous Mamie is heavily pregnant upon their reaching Eureka; she delivers baby Robbie soon after the cabin is completed. Robert eventually starts a successful boat building business and Mamie gives birth to five more children: Jimmy, Kirk, Annabelle, Elizabeth, and Jane. The Eunsons are prospering and happy–until tiny Kirk is diagnosed with diptheria. Mamie and Kirk are quarantined while Robert takes the other children away. The boy recovers, but the goodbye kiss he gave Dadda before his departure proves fatal, and Mr. Eunson succumbs.

Mamie takes to working as a seamstress and Robbie becomes the man of the house. Things stabilize, but only briefly: tired and work-worn, Mamie contracts typhoid. Brilliant she won’t survive, she charges her eldest with finding suitable homes for his siblings. After her death, Robbie does exactly that, dispatching his brothers and sisters to pleasant townsfolk. Stoic and resigned during the process, he does crash down when he’s alone and sees the tree outside the homestead where his father had carved the names of the children into the bark. Baby Jane is the last to be handed over–Robbie stands at the door of a house and asks the woman who answers, “Will you seize my sister, ma’am? ” Pathos, lachrymose, mourning, and gloom! (It reminds me that in Mountainous Britain, this movie was released under the title The Day They Gave Babies Away…*gulp*!)
He then turns and trudges, solitary and struggling, up a hill in a snowstorm. You may ask, “What does this horribly dark story have to do with Christmas? ” Robbie is breaking up the clan on Christmas Eve, wisely thinking people are more likely to earn taking in an orphan while filled with the holiday spirit.
I remember having my grade school display this film when I was a kid and half the auditorium was weeping openly by the kill. While many people would avoid something this maudlin during a time of year we’re enjoined to be merry and shimmering, I gain it triumphant and warm-hearted. This is an worthy anime, which there are far too few of. Brandon Heat (Beyond the Grave) is the main character. He is mostly unexcited and cold, which seems to be a contradiction between the map he behaves and his name. He is basically raised on the streets with his friends, but finds cherish…to poor she becomes adopted by Gargantuan Daddy after her adopted uncle passes away. Immense Daddy is the head of an organization comparable to the mafia, hence the title of this review. He is a very likable character, not the villian. He eventually allows Brandon to survey his like, Maria, but only on supervised visits, since he now works for the organization. The anime follows along with death, savor, betrayal, and revenge. The fable becomes over the top around halfway through the note, with people being brought befriend to life for the purpose of great soldiers, which the current leader of the oraganization hasty seizes upon and sells them on the gloomy market to conflict zones. This anime shows the possiblities of science, as well as humanity in its mafia style setup. This is an exceptional anime that should not be missed. I rate it #1, followed by Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Gundam 0083, and many many others. This will always be my celebrated.

Once the gangster “Excited Dog” Ladd enters the fold, gun shots ring out, are fired, blood is spilled, and soon it’s unprejudiced Brandon and his best friend Harry MacDowel fending for themselves on the city streets.
For the most allotment, the pacing works. How so you wonder? Well the core of the viewer’s interest is derived from the natural curiosity as to what led up to Grave’s bizarre space.
You realize that Brandon and Harry are thick as thieves in their underworld exploits in life but logic tells you that this relationship must have soured. How, when and why? How does Brandon meet his untimely demise? More importantly tranquil, how does he return to the land of the living?
You’ll wonder these things impartial a bit quicker than the backtracking is able to utter them but this is no colossal deal because a riveting record never was Gungrave’s strong suit and shame on you for thinking otherwise.

In fact that’s really one of the best comparisons I can reach up with (objective so long as you don’t ask the mind-twisting elements that riddled the later entries of the book series) . Gungrave is definitely shallower, more violent, and linear in its pacing and prose.
The English dub works better than it has any honest to and perhaps that can be credited to the simple fact that the roles clearly didn’t require a whole lot of emotion (particularly that of Grave himself) . The secondary characters simply had to be gruff, rough or tough and American actors, if I may generalize, rarely have danger nailing that assignment. The Japanese dialog brings a bit more emotion to the script but don’t inquire miracles from Grave, he is what is regardless of which continent the actor portraying him hails from.
In all this is definitely not a title for the masses but rather is an acquired taste; kind of like shaded coffee or German beer. If you’re looking for a shoot-em-up with a simplistic set saturated with vengeance (ala Slay Bill) and icy visuals (advance on the guy blows his enemies away with his guns crossed and his hat dipped below his eyes for crying out loud), this is a must-own collection. If, on the other hand, you accept yourself in the camp seeking emotional attachment, rich storytelling or ultra-believability, perhaps you would be wiser to let this one drift past like the cloud of dust kicked up from Grave’s cool stiff boot.

My wife and I took a chance on this and rented it when we couldn’t gain anything else. We haven’t seen any other Apatow films — they all looked a runt too adolescent for our tastes. We had read some trustworthy reviews of this, though, so we gave it a shot. It was a precise surprise — very clever, well-written, and genuinely comic. Tremendous cast, and all give splendid performances. Lots of right talent went into this. A very delightful movie.
“Forgetting Sarah Marshall” is another smashing success brought to you by Judd Apatow and friends. This time it is Jason Segel’s turn to shine and he certainly does not dissapoint with a script that is both laugh out loud amusing and emotionally unbiased.

While one has advance to ask Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, and even Segel himself to be on point because of their past turns in other Apatow produced comedies, it is the newcomers that really designate.
Like Christpher Mint-Plaisse as Fogel in “Superbad” it is the ability to accept unusual and fresh comedic voices that have largely contributed to the success of past Apatow movies like “Superbad”, “Knocked up”, and even “40 year traditional virgin”.
“Sarah Marshall” introduces the british Comedian Russell Effect to American audiences as Aldous Snow the ultra-ridiculous british rockstar/new boyfriend of Sarah Marshall. Price has dynamite droll timing and is certainly willing to do anything for a laugh. His interactions with Jonah Hill whose character is obsessed with him are both creepy and laugh out loud comic.
the other right suprise is Mila Kunis. While I enjoyed her as jackie on “That 70’s Prove”, her work here is truly relevatory. While she is essentially playing the requiste “dream girl” she is able to give the fraction some sincere depth while giving the movie a right warmth.

The other standout for me was Bill Hader who is funnier everytime I peruse him. Most will probably eye him from his work in Superbad as Seth Rogen’s partner and in this he plays segel’s step-brother who is not frightened to stutter Peter exactly how it is.
I also feel I need to mention Kristen Bell who plays Sarah Marshall. While the role is rather thankless she is quite silly and gives the character steady bite. She also nails perhaps the most just scene I have ever seen in a romantic comedy when she finally tells Peter why it didnt work between them. Both actors shine in the scene, but her work is both impartial and heartbreaking and gives her character a depth that I certainly was not expecting.
This one is highly recommended

I recently purchased this DVD European War collection and I’m enjoying these improbable war films at a ticket that’s so affordable it must be seen to gain. This World War II DVD Collection-European Warfare includes 5 outstanding War epics that were received by the movie-going public as lively with a immense sage line and many action-packed scenes that most critics moved to give these films a thumbs up. It’s difficult to point out which film ranks the best. You can settle any 5 attractive war epics, my favorites “The Dirty Dozen” and “Where Eagles Dare” were given 3-1/2 – 4 Stars. The report transfer on all 5 are crisp and distinct and the sound is remarkably full-bodied stereo. Five stars for a gargantuan collection of War films that can be watched over and over again.

By far, the two standouts are The Princess and the Pirate & They Got Me Covered. Alias Jesse James is available for the first time on DVD, it’s his last comedy-western & a aesthetic genuine one. After this it’s a tumble off in quality. The Road to Hong Kong is the weakest of the Road movies & glorious lame, to boot. The Facts of Life co-stars Lucille Ball & is grand, as all the Hope-Ball pairings. The Facts of Life & I’ll Consume Sweden are Hope vehicles that aim at getting a younger audience & are mixed bags. The musty co-stars Frankie Avalon & Annette Funicello, the latter has Elke Sommer (gaze candy) . Boy, Did I Gather a Atrocious number has Hope’s first pairing with Phyllis Diller that’s not among his best.
This space concentrates more on Hope’s later period (early to mid sixties) which is past his prime as to the quality of the movies. It’s the other three movies that really perform this site worthwhile. Here’s how I would rate these movies on an individual basis:

These discs are high quality but there aren’t any bonus features. The stamp is what makes this position the ample deal that it is.
The quality was tremendous. I idea it might be grainy ~ but it wasn’t. They’re gargantuan movies with extraordinary memories. The hastily wit humor without the peril of somebody dropping the F bomb or nudity is amazing. To be able to eye clever dialog with your kids ~ especially when they are advancing from cartoons. Definately a worth while investment!
